Thailand's prime minister conceded existing floodwalls and water embankments might not be able to withstand the massive inundation and said there was a strong chance the flood will penetrate central and inner zones of the capital.
Volunteer teams are continuing to work to save dogs and cats, some 20 hours at a stretch.
