RABIES – Frequently Asked Question
Q1. Does the virus spread through air or even dogs urine?
A1. NO! The virus is transferred to humans via bites and scratches.
Q2. Can we report a suspected rabid animal to you?

Q3. How do we identified a rabid dog?
A3. Dog will show the following signs:
Scare of water
Huge amount of saliva
Scare of lights
Very aggressive than before
Looks scare/worried tail goes under/ in between their hind legs
Very alert to any movement
Bites anyone/dog within reason (not provoking by human)
Q4. All veterinary clinics dont have any more vaccine for rabies. Do you have any?
A4. We dont have any vaccines at our shelter. We also getting our vaccines from vets.
Q5. Do you provide free vaccinations for rabies?
A5. NO. Free vaccination was given by DVS on 20th July. Please refer to DVS press release if any in the future.
Q6. Where can we vaccinate our pets?
A6. Vaccination can be done at your familys Veterinary Clinic.
Q7. Can we handover our animals to your shelter?
A7. Currently we have over 300 animals in our shelter. We are unable to take in anymore.
Q8. Do you provide house call service to vaccine our dogs?
A8. We dont have any vaccine with us. Please contact your familys Veterinary Clinic.
Q9. Do you have any idea when will the vaccine for rabies arrive?
A9. Please check with your veterinary clinics. Make reservation if you need to.
Q10. What can we do now that no vaccine available?
A10. Try to make reservation with your veterinary. In the meantime, keep your pets within your compound temporary. Cage them if you can as temporary measure.
