Frequently Asked Questions on Rabies by the public:

1. Is my pet vaccinated against Rabies?

NO, if it is locally born and bred.

If it is imported from a rabies-infected area, then yes. Check the vaccination card if it is still valid.

2. Can I vaccinate my pet?

Vaccination is mandatory and available only to pets within 10km radius of the outbreak center, provided by the government.

3. Where can I vaccinate my pet?

Refer to Q2. The vaccine is still not available at veterinary clinics; private or public.

4. What is the government doing to control the disease?

As mentioned in Q2. Mass vaccination is a strategic move to control the spread of the disease.

5. What should I do outside the radius?

Keep your pets indoor. And stay calm. Your pets are in your safe hands.

Be thankful and grateful to our colleagues who are out in the field, risking their life to control the disease.
