Daffodils News And The New Homecooked Catfood Recipe

Here are some photos taken over the last 2 days:

Her tshirt is only worn after the paste is applied to the tumour.

Still regular small meals, but she’s eating a bit more now.

Sometimes, she comes down to eat, but most of the time, I take the food upstairs for her since I’m feeding her every few hours per day. Daffodil eats on her own and doesn’t require any force-feeding.

She still likes to go upstairs but instead of the furry mats, she sleeps on our blanket on the bed now.

Joining everyone for a meal.

Grooming Ginger.

From Cindy’s Tuna and Chicken, Daffodil now likes home-cooked food (yay!). It took me two weeks to get the recipe “right” for the cats. Shredding by hand doesn’t work for our cats, they still like it blended. And I’ve added supplements now: wheatgrass powder, fish oil, vitamin E, bonemeal (in place of egg shell powder, but will alternate between the two, and will probably stick to just egg shell powder after this), taurine (finally, I found it!), nutritional yeast flakes (for vitamin B) and Morton Lite Salt (for potassium and iodine). I use one whole chicken and add chicken breast meat to make it less oily. Using thigh pieces didn’t work as the skin makes it too oily and the cats didn’t like it, so I’ve got the right combination now (for our cats).

I purchased these supplements from iherb.com. It arrived in less than a week, by DHL! And it’s so much cheaper too, despite the shipping charges.

Vincent, Tiger and Cleo are 100% barf eaters. Bunny loves barf as well, but he can only take in a little each time or he would vomit it all out after that. Daffodil and Heidi love homecooked (yes, they want it cooked). The rest are all okay with a mixture of barf and homecooked, depending on their mood. Zurik also prefers homecooked to barf. It’s not easy feeding 12 cats as each has his/her preferences! While barf is the “ancestral food” for cats (it’s biologically appropriate for them), not every cat’s digestive system can process raw food efficiently.
