Teodor's Happy Ever After!

“In this journey one thing I know, is wherever you are, I am home.”

Teodor spent over 2 years in our shelter before he got adopted to the UK. Here is what his mum wrote about their journey together:

“As I laid my eyes on Teodor’s adoption page and watched his video over and over, I knew that we were meant to be together.

I could go on to tell you all about how well Teodor has settled into life, how he loves to run on the beach, sniff everything in the forest and curl up on the sofa but I believe that pictures speak far louder than words!

What I will say is that adopting him was the best decision I’ve made to date! Not only do I love him more than words but I’ve found a whole Soi Dog family who I’d have never met without him.

Adopting a dog into the UK on the surface sounded, frankly, quite terrifying. I was thinking about shots, transport, a pet passport etc. I was not prepared for how much I didn’t know about adopting a dog from overseas and how smooth the whole adoption process actually was. Whilst I concentrated on the finer details, (which dog bed to buy!) the Soi Dog staff and volunteers sorted everything for me and helped me find my way to Teodor.

From the minute I knew that Teodor would have his forever home with us, I was overwhelmed by the unbelievable characters behind the scenes. From the adoptions team, to the volunteers that sent me pictures of him in the shelter whilst I awaited his arrival, the volunteers in the UK who came and met me to discuss the process, the amazing flight volunteers that brought him home and my support worker who never fails to pick up the phone. To the foundation, humbly, I thank you for allowing us the gift of Teodor.

Then, there are the lasting friendships that have been forged just because of this beautiful boy. For those that knew and loved Teodor, or those that didn’t have the chance, he is and always will be one of a kind.

If I could speak “dog” just for one day, I’d let him know this; It really isn’t clear to see if I rescued you, or you rescued me.

In this journey one thing I know, is wherever you are, I am home.”

Please email inga@soidog.org if you have space in your heart and home for one of our dogs!
