I sat out in the porch, waiting patiently for Daffodil to come out from under the car but she refused.
A friend who has vast experience with cats, especially elderly ones, told me that with senior felines (especially females AND calicos), they live life on THEIR terms, not ours.
So true…
They will come back only when they are ready and only when they want.
So I decided to come back inside (it’s really such a warm night and I was sweating profusely out there) and write that post about Stargate2, Part 2.
In between, my husband went out to try to coax her to come back, but she in turn, went to the next-door house. The next-door is unoccupied right now, but soon, someone might move in, and then, we cannot have Daffodil going over anymore.
After writing that post, I decided to try once more, so I went out and found that Daffodil had returned and was under the car.
I went in and got some Monge kibble and as I stepped out of the door, Daffodil finally (yes, FINALLY!) came out and reluctantly came through the door and into the house.
So, yes, she is back….for now.
On my terms.
Yes, madame. On your terms.
Daffodil has the whole dining area, actually.
But I guess it just isn’t enough for her.
She has lived her life roaming the streets, having her freedom and though she lived for many months in our bedroom, practically not going out anywhere at all, she still doesn’t like being confined. The whole idea of being confined must be totally unacceptable (and quite alien) to her, so she wants to challenge the idea and prove that she can still be free.
We hear you, Daffodil.
Please be safe.
Calicos are very, very, very strong-willed.
