For some reason, Heidi came up to the bed at about 4.30am this morning and pee-ed on me.
Before that, both of them (Heidi and Daffodil) were asking to go out; they were looking out of the window in our bedroom and mewing.
I guess it’s hard to break an old habit. Dawn has always been the time when they would go to the playground to wait for the feeder. Now, all this has to change for two reasons: (1) The resident who circulated the council hotline number, and (2) As much as the cats like kibble, it’s better for them, especially now that they are aging, to eat wetfood at home. And also (3) There are some drivers in our area who seem to have an ambition to break the sound barrier with their cars, so that’s really dangerous, especially when it’s still dark.
But cats will be cats. Old habits die hard. They still want to go out.
I guess it was a mark of protest that Heidi pee-ed on me. She has never ever done this before. Her normal habit is to come lay down beside me at 5am sharp, then she’s off “somewhere” and will return for breakfast.
So I had to get up, clean the bed and wash the bedsheets and blankets.
And I saw this:
Operasi Gopher – Daffodil must have tried again in the middle of the night.
We don’t lock the PatioCats in at night. They have a free run of the house and can go out through the windows, to the patio and garden, but all within the confines of Stargate2.
How do you know it was me?
You have no proof.
I was here all night.
Maybe it was Heidi? or Vincent?
Huh?
