After covering the bolts (barely!) and trimming Daffodil’s nails, Daffi probably knew she was temporarily defeated (for now), so she went upstairs and stayed there all day.
No attempt was made to escape, as far as we know.
Husband thinks this could be in retaliation of what happened on Saturday, because we took Heidi to the playground during our taiji practice. We thought Heidi might need to eat her grass at her spot. I have already planted the same grass (dug out from that spot) in a pot at the patio, but that didn’t work for Heidi.
However, Heidi did not eat grass, instead, she went to a neighbour’s porch, and that was a problem. Sigh…
How do you stop a cat from crawling under a gate and going into another compound? You can’t, can you?
So, anyway, after Heidi was satisfied being in a neighbour’s house compound, she strolled over to the playground to join us for taiji…on her own terms, as all cats do.
Who is a human to dictate to a cat what to do, right?
We finally got Heidi back home. It wasn’t without a struggle.
So, it’s not that we don’t want to let them out under supervision, but they don’t listen once they are out. That is a bit of a problem, because understandably, not all humans like animals being in their compounds.
Anyway, back to Daffi, my husband figured Daffi must be annoyed that we took Heidi out, so she simply had to show us that she could go out too, and so, she scaled Stargate2.
There has been no attempt after yesterday’s scare.
She still came to wake me up at 3am today and made a lot of noise.
I was feverish last night, so I couldn’t get up at 3am. When I finally got up at 6am, I saw faeces in two different places in the house. A sign of protest, perhaps?
Do not mess with a Calico, especially a 17 year-old one.
On another note, Cow Mau has mellowed.
However, there was a big, noisy fight between Cow and Bunny (who else?) yesterday and Tabs tried to help mediate. Poor Tabs…
No one got injured, thank goodness.
Calico Cleo is equally formidable.
Peace.
But why does Indy always only get a floor mat?
As with humans, some are just “more equal” than others, aren’t they?
Indy says: The floor mat gets changed and washed more often than those pretty mats. LOL!
