MAJOR IN LAW WITH A HEART FOR THE WILD

Alicia Lian is a year two student from the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. With love for animals and a keen interest in wildlife protection and animal rights, Alicia chose to spend her school break by doing a one month placement with our animal care and wildlife rescue department.

As a law student, Alicia believes that animals also have the rights to live their lives free from abuse and exploitation.

ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare.

ACRES has six focus areas: Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Wildlife Crime Investigation, Zoo Animal Welfare, Humane Education, Community Outreach and Promoting Cruelty-Free Living.
