HAPPY EVER AFTER IN THE USA – An update on Luna!
Luna left our shelter here in Phuket US bound around a month ago. And today she wrote us a little letter:
“Dear Soi Dog,
It’s been over a month since I arrived to my new home. I have a new dog sister, Charlotte, and cat siblings called Lenny and Nacho. I was not sure about them at first, everything was so new, and I was a bit nervous, but now we get along just fine! There is a lot to learn, and I am trying very hard.
Lenny sometimes runs around the house chasing some imaginary things, and I want to help him chase them, but my mom says it’s better if he chases them alone… Nacho is pretty cool, I like her. She rubs her tail on my chin all the time. I think she runs this household. Charlotte – even though she is smaller than me – is my big sister. She shows me how to play with toys, how to treat Nacho and Lenny, what to do when mailman brings us mail… And I am learning a lot from her! We sleep together on the couch, go for walks together, eat together and play together.
I love going for walks, even in the rain. When my mom puts her shoes on I get very excited because that means we are going for a run! I love car rides! I stick my head out of the window to feel the wind! When we get to the park, I like to sniff everything! People always say how beautiful I am! Everyone asks about me! And my mom says that I came from the other side of the world just to be with her!
When I came to the US, every time I went for a walk I would get heat rash and itchy skin, but I don’t get them anymore. My mom got some magic shampoo just for me. But I don’t like baths. My mom says they help keep my skin healthy, and my fur bright white, but I think fresh lemons is just not my scent so right after baths I like go outside and roll in the dirt! I have a big yard, and I like to run all around it very fast. I also like chasing imaginary things…
I think I am starting to like it here… I think I can get used to all the hugs, kisses, belly rubs and treats! It’s nice to have a family to call my own. But I do miss my friends at Soi Dog. You have done so much for me! Thank You!
Well, that’s all for now. I will let you know when I learn something new. Also next time I will show you my park!!! – Luna”
