For the first 8 years of his life, Jakome lived with someone who loved him. But when his owner died, Jakome was left to fend for himself on the streets. Some kind people in the community took pity on him and began feeding him. One day, they found Jakome extremely ill and severely wounded.

Jakome was struggling to breathe when the Animal Rescue Officer arrived. He also had a deep and painful wound in his ear. The vets discovered that he was suffering from a lung infection. The wound in his ear was so severe that they thought it might need to be surgically removed.

Luckily, Jakome�s ear did not need to be removed. His wound healed nicely. He has congestive heart failure, though, so he will need to keep taking medication for his heart.
