The NGOs of animal welfare and the press were invited to today's press conference for The Pet Project Malaysia.
Andy Koh of PetFinder.my had brought Sabrina Saw, the one lady who is behind this project, to meet us at the Cutie Pet Fair and we all were more than happy to participate in it.
The event is scheduled to be held on 7th January 2012, at the British International School KL, from 11am to 11pm. It is a dance marathon with dance classes, sports classes and clinics, run by (in Sabrina's words), the "cream of the crop". Experts and world-class trainers in dance and sports will be flying (at their own cost) all the way to Malaysia to participate in this project as their contribution to the welfare of animals in our country.
If you can't dance or play sports, not to worry, because classes are multi-leveled and there would be beginners classes as well.

Here's photos taken from today's press conference which I attended:
The British International School is truly one of a kind.
Of course, the fees are exorbitant, too! Their nursery fees is probably more than what I paid for my entire university degree!
According to Sabrina, the entire school will be utilised for this project. The headmaster is very supportive and everyone will be involved.
The is the lady behind everything - Sabrina Saw. She is truly a powerhouse of passion and energy.
All proceeds from this project will be channeled to the participating NGOs based on a tiered system determined by PetFinder.my. It's based on how many animals each "shelter" has. The non-shelters like us will be on a different scale. Besides the NGOs, Zoo Negara is also participating and they will collect their own donations. This project is approved by the DVS and one of the ministries.
After the briefing, Sabrina got everyone to dance, just to prove that everyone can dance!
I'm not into dance, but I think this must be called the Hip Hop?
I left early as I am still coughing real badly. Don't want to spread the germs around. I had to go back to work too.
Looking forward very much to a fun-filled and meaningful event. As Sabrina says, people in dance and sports are full of adrenalin and endorphins; they are very happy people. What better way to help the animals than by participating in a fun-filled and happy event.
Mark your calendar, folks.
It's 7th January...and it's going to be a marathon of fun.
It's going to be great!
