Hey Everyone!We are embarking on a charitable campaign to distribute 500 essential care packages to several refugee communities under the UNHCR in Kuala Lumpur. Our main purpose is to raise awareness on the plight of refugees in Malaysia whilst educating them on the importance of dental hygiene. Due to inadequate dental hygiene, many refugees are facing symptoms such as sore gums, bacterial infections and loss of teeth, which lead to malnutrition and further health implications. What is inside the care package? – Dental products, various items of clothing as well as general hygiene products such as body soap, shampoo, antibacterial wipes, etc. In addition, we are also including add-ons for men, women and children whereby they will receive razors, feminine toiletries and stationary respectively. In conjuction with this campaign, Roots & Shoots is doing a donation drive to raise funds to cover the cost of the care packages, as well as logistical and operating costs.Our suggested donation is RM100, although any amount is much appreciated. The more you donate, the more people we can benefit. Other than monetary donation, why not donate your time and join us for the packing and distribution events too?We aim to distribute 500 packages on the 1st of April 2017, and are seeking your kind support to allow us to accomplish this mission.
