Rosie (Day 28)

Today was a rather uneventful day.

Rosie wasn’t interested in eating again. The vet had already told me that it’s going to be up-and-down for an animal afflicted with liver disease.

We took Rosie out on the harness for some morning air. She didn’t want to walk, just sat with us to listen to the chirping of the birds.

My friends came over to help with OPM massage but Rosie was scared, so they didn’t do it. We’ll just do it by ourselves since it’s massaging along the sides of the spinal chord.

Yesterday, Rosie loved spending time in the cage out at the patio, but this morning, she didn’t like it anymore.

I want to go back inside!

My guess is, yesterday, the weather was really nice and perhaps Rosie liked that. It wasn’t too hot.  But this morning, the sun was pretty strong. Maybe Rosie didn’t like that. The TCM vet did say, from her diagnosis, that Rosie prefers shady places.

Yesterday, during the acupuncture session, the vet asked if Rosie had trouble sleeping at night. I said I didn’t know because I’ll also be asleep at night. Last night, Rosie slept between our pillows and yes, she hardly slept. She was just lying on her belly; she wasn’t sleeping. Rosie sleeps in the day time – a typical cat.

She is still attached to the Bird Family drinking bowl.

Subcut this evening.

After the subcut.

Since Rosie’s not eating on her own today, I force-fed her small meals at regular intervals. Ever since she was willing to chew, I don’t give her the liquid treats anymore (I would want to minimise anything that has chemicals since the liver has to detoxify). Rosie is mostly on home-cooked food (made from antibiotic-free and hormone-free chicken and organic veges), Primal Freeze-Dried and either AD or Recovery (to mix them all up). And I’ll usually add wheatgrass powder, Stemtech powder, Transfer Factors (powder), Nutritional Yeast and probiotics (not everything at one go, but a bit of this and that with her meals). Rosie is pretty easy to force-feed, thank goodness.
