Help us, help our community dogs
Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) of community dogs, sometimes referred to as street dogs or strays, is the most humane and effective method of population control.
The SPCA does not round up community dogs, as we believe that sterilisation is the most humane and effective way of keeping the population in check and ultimately, reducing the population, whilst allowing the dogs to live out their lives.
Community dogs are found living within our environment, whether in the urban areas or the outskirts of Singapore. For many of them, they do not know of any other existence but the streets they live on. Many of these dogs are responsibly managed by dedicated community caregivers who lovingly look after the needs of these animals.
Since 1991, the SPCA has distributed over 33,000 free sterilisation vouchers (for community dogs and cats) to individual caregivers, rescuers and other animal welfare groups, totalling over $1.2 million in costs borne by the SPCA. The voucher programme has kept the community dog and cat populations down and saved countless lives
Help us to help them – with your kind donation at https://www.giving.sg/society-for-the-prevention-of-cruelty-to-animals/sterilise_our_community_dogs, we hope to issue more free sterilisation vouchers to caregivers and other animal welfare groups. These vouchers can be used at any of our external partner clinics, and grants the community dog a completely paid-for sterilisation procedure.
