We regret to inform everyone that after having gone missing (escaped) for two days, Whitetu's lifeless body was discovered by Bernice yesterday. He had passed away in a drain. Whitetu had decided it was time to rejoin the Universal Catness.

Sorry to post sad news first thing in the morning, but this is reality. Life is born, and life passes away every moment and it is part of life that this happens.

May Whitetu be in a better place now where he is free from suffering.

There is a theory that says animals "go away" to die, perhaps because they do not want us to feel sad. I read from somewhere that this happens because when they are sickly, they feel weak and defenseless, so they go away to hide. Cats, being the proud animals that they are, when they feel defenseless, they are afraid they cannot protect themselves, so they go away somewhere quiet to be alone where they may feel safer. This may be a possible explanation, but the bottom line is, we are all guessing. We'll never truly know why this happens.

Maybe that is why elephants go away to the elephant graveyard to die too?

Sad, if we choose to humanise animals, because we humans want our whole family to be with us when we die. Or, do we? But animals act upon instinct, so maybe that's what they prefer.

But, we'll never know.

Be well and happy now, Whitetu....in that Universal Catness, that Rainbow Bridge, where all animals roam, run and play happily again.
