Rosies Room (Day 16)
Tweet | ![]() |
We’ve been keeping Rosie in our bedroom for quite a number of days now, with the windows all tightly locked.
It appears that she is now very comfortable in the room and prefers to just stay in the room than come downstairs. We have the litter box in the bathroom for her too. She has a king-sized bed to sleep on, or under the bed (which seems to be her preference), also a sofa, and the best thing is, the room’s windows face east so there is a fair amount of morning sun.
So, we decided this will be Rosie’s room and we’ll wire-net all the windows (properly!) so that the windows can be left open for some fresh air.
And we can also sleep with the windows open now….phew!
I gave Rosie Lactulose this morning and it worked after about 2 hours – good poo. I read that there might be increased ammonia in liver patients and Lactulose is used to reduce the amount of ammonia in the blood of patients with liver disease. The vet told me about this too. The only downside of using Lactulose is that water is absorbed into the colon and this might lead to dehydration. So we have to ensure that Rosie drinks enough water (which she does).
Rosie ate her three kibble meals today (she didn’t want wetfood) and I used wetfood to feed her her medicines and supplements.
Wire-netted. We nailed the wire net onto the wall to secure it besides tying the net to the grille with cables. With this done, Tabs can also come up now. Tabs loves sitting by the window to look outside.
Rosie practically spent all day under the bed. Right smack in the middle, so that it’s difficult for me to catch her for medicines.
Rosie’s meds and supplements: Morning, Afternoon and Evening (in separate containers).
