Rosies ALT Reading Has Come Downa Bit (Day 5)
The best news of the day is that Rosie’s ALT (liver) reading has come down from 641 (on Friday) to 409 (taken on Monday, after 4 days). Although the vet hoped it could have gone down further, but this decrease is significant and is good.
The reading would have to come down further in perhaps, another 5 days or so. The normal reading is 80. We have quite a long way to go….
Another liver reading also came down. However, one of the gall bladder readings went up, though not significantly so.
The plan is to continue with the current medication and supplements and hope for more improvement.
Last night, we let Rosie go free in the house (but closed all the windows). She came up and slept with us on the bed, in between our pillows – that’s where she or Daffodil usually sleep.
This morning, I found stools in the litter box, so I really hope it’s hers. That means the Lactulose worked!
My husband also let her out for awhile this morning, and he saw her passing motion on the grass, so that’s all good. She had been constipated since Friday.
I was at work all morning and Jia-Wen said she made a racket all morning, complaining about being in the cage. By afternoon, she was all tired out (of complaining), so she slept.
I am still force-feeding her the ID (plus some Recovery as a treat). Perhaps this is because I have divided it into 4 smaller meals (even ordinarily, Rosie eats in small amounts, but frequently), so maybe she is not hungry enough to want to eat by herself.
But she sure has lots of energy to complain!
I closed up the house and let her out inside the house by evening.
Heidi sure doesn’t mind the cage (but atop it, of course).
Rosie tried to escape through the windows, but failed, so she decided to go upstairs and sleep outside Ming-Yi’s room.
One day at a time…we hope Rosie will recover completely in time.
Thank you very much for all your kind prayers!
