Visiting Rosie (Day 2)
Tweet | ![]() |
We visited Rosie this morning.
She looked very down and that got us worried.
Come on, Rosie. Cheer up!
But soon…
She perked up…
Her complete blood test results was ready last night. The blood results doesn’t tell us much except that the ALT (a liver reading) is high (8 times the normal reading). This indicates a primary liver injury.
There could be a few causes for this “primary liver injury”. It could be a bacterial infection (Doxycycline takes care of this), or a liver fluke due to a parasite (an appropriate dosage of Drontal has been administered for this) and Baytril has been given as well. On top of this, Rosie is also on B-Complex, Samylin and Liv-52. We will also add Maximum Hep with CurQ Life.
The medicines will take 4-5 days before any results can be seen.
This evening, we can bring Rosie home (with the catheter, but off drips) so that we can home-nurse her on Sunday (since the clinic will be closed). On Monday, we will take her back for an evaluation.
Rosie is still not eating, so she was force-fed. We will give her ID (liver problems, best to go on low-fat).
For those who might have missed the earlier post, Rosie was found to be FIV+ also.
More updates tonight.
Thank you, all friends, for your kind wishes and distant-Reiki for Rosie.
