My Name Is Drossel. Please ADOPT Me!

I LEARNED TO WALK AGAIN. NOW I AM READY TO FIND MY FOREVER HOME. Please ADOPT me!

Please EMAIL all questions to inga@soidog.org (English/German). If you can’t adopt me, please SHARE my story. Thank you!

I am a girl of around 4 years of age and arrived at the shelter here in Phuket, Thailand after being hit by a car. Lying in agony at the side of the road, I was unable to move or even stand up. By the time I arrived at the shelter, I was so weak and refused to eat.

The car accident caused my to brain swell and the bones in my neck were partially dislocated. My future looked bleak. When I first arrived I could only lie down. But as the vets continued with my treatment, I was able to sit, then stand, and then finally walk again!

The accident left me with a condition called ataxia, which means I wobble slightly when I walk. I also hold my head higher than the other dogs, but the people here say that gives me even more character and makes me special.

I certainly won’t let my past bring me down. I am no longer in any pain and I enjoy my walks. The people here say I am a friendly girl. And I am always the first to greet people who enter my enclosure. I am very affectionate and proudly offer my belly and without hesitation for belly rubs to anyone who spends a bit of time with me. I get along just fine with the other dogs in my enclosure. So I wouldn’t mind sharing my forever home with another dog.

After everything I’ve been through would you find it in your heart to adopt me and provide me with a forever loving home?

So many other dogs have found homes in places like Canada, Europe and the U.S. Could I be next?
