Foldable Lightweight Shopping Bags For #BebasPlastik
Tweet |
I met a friend while buying vegetables today and she was lamenting about the #BebasPlastik campaign. She said she usually buys many items on her shopping trips and now, she would have to carry many shopping bags with her, which is an inconvenience.
So, I showed her the foldable lightweight shopping bag that I was using. This bag was given to me by Jennifer more than a year ago (she gave me two, actually, and I have been using them very often).
This foldable shopping bag is made from very light material and the best part is that it is foldable (please see photos below). Most cloth bags are foldable in the same way, but if it’s made with very light and thin material, it can be folded very flat and small. And you can put a few of them into your handbag and whisk them out whenever you need more bags during your shopping trips.
This is the bag.
Jennifer says this was made with remnant material, hence the handles is of a different cloth.
Despite the material being very thin, it has lasted me for so long. It’s totally washable and dries extremely fast.
Fold the two handles in.
Fold into three rectangles.
Fold the two ends inwards.
It’s a square now.
Tuck in one half into the pocket of the other half.
Voila!
In conjunction with the BebasPlastik campaign, we were wondering if you will be needing these foldable bags. They are really very useful and convenient (I have been using them regularly ever since Jennifer gave them to me).
We are thinking of making them and selling them to raise funds.
Two pieces for RM35 (inclusive of postage to Peninsular Malaysia).
Update on 8th Jan 2017: We had many orders for the bags and it’s RM20 per piece. Thank you!
If you are interested to purchase, please either leave a comment on this blogpost or write to me at chankahyein@gmail.com.
Thank you!
