Rescuer Joanna found Dawn, an abandoned dog at a location where she regularly feeds 8 other stray dogs in Ara Damansara. Dawn had been dumped there with her 6 puppies. Joanna continued feeding them for one week, and managed to find homes for 3 puppies. SPCA took in the remaining 3 pups and Dawn, after Joanna requested for help via SPCA’s Facebook page. Her pups Sun, Moon and Sky are still at SPCA waiting for adopters.

Dawn is friendly, active and loves her freedom. She was adopted, but returned as her adopter said she was ‘too active’. Joanna discussed the option to neuter and release Dawn back at the original location where Joanna can continue to feed and monitor her, and it was decided that this might be the best solution as Dawn was happier in an open space. She was neutered and released, and was very happy living there for one week. Unfortunately, witnesses saw a cruel man hit her leg with a wooden stick – injuring her badly.

SPCA brought her back in and took her to Dr Goh for a check-up and X-ray which revealed that she required surgery. She is on her way to surgery today (30th Dec). The estimate cost of surgery, treatment, and boarding is RM3,500. Joanna is trying to raise half the amount, and we need to raise the other half via donations.

Please make a donation for Dawn’s surgery and care if you are able to, any excess will be kept in the SMURF fund for other urgent cases of strays needing medical treatment.
