Cow Attacked Zurik
Tweet |
This evening, at about 6pm, Cow wanted to go out of the room, so I let him out. Indy was already out in the garden, so Cow sauntered out as well.
Zurik was sitting down minding his own business, but when Cow saw him, Cow started growling and in split second, Cow attacked Zurik and both were engaged in a locked-body fight.
Instinctively, my husband took the dustpan and tried to break up the fight, but of course that never works. You cannot separate two cats when they are locked together in battle mode. I think only splashing water or covering one with a blanket work.
It took me a good many seconds to run to the nearest tap and fill a scoop of water, run back and splash water on the two.
That broke up the fight…luckily!
Zurik fled the scene of the crime while Cow remained hissing, puffing and panting.
We somehow managed to get Cow back into Bunny’s Place and I noticed some superficial scratches on his neck and leg. He was still huffing and hissing, so we couldn’t attend to him until later.
By the way, the dustpan had broken into two. My husband also had a deep cut on his foot.
Soon after, I cleaned Cow’s wounds as best I could, with him hissing and snarling. There were no other visible wounds except for those on the neck and leg. He limped a little too and it was later that I noticed he had a bleed on his hind paw. We managed to clean that up too. I’m not sure but I think he could have lost a claw on that paw.
In between attending to Cow, I went looking for Zurik up and down our road, but he was nowhere to be seen. I just hoped he was alright.
At about 8pm, Zurik finally came back. I checked for injuries, but would you believe it, there was not a single scratch on him!
Zurik’s skin must be pretty thick (figuratively and literally)!
By now, Cow looked a bit sickly.
Only now did I notice another wound on his chest. It looked lacerated; hopefully it’s not a deep wound.
We managed to clean this wound as well, but Cow was still hissing and snarling, so it was just a quick one.
It’s been two hours already and Cow seems to be still in shock. Maybe he is very upset (when he bullies Bunny, he usually comes out victorious).
Not a single scratch on you, eh, Russian?
That was a pretty bad fight and you seem to have got off easily…
But then again, fair’s fair. Cow started it. He was the perpetrator. It wasn’t your fault, Zurik.
Zurik even had supper with everyone in the kitchen.
Just another day for you, Zurik?
The Inside Cats had their supper too, but Cow didn’t join them. He remained sleeping in the bed.
I mixed Vetri DMG and Rescue Remedy into some home-cooked food and offered it to Cow, but he did not want any.
I tried hand-feeding him, but he looked away as well. He just wanted to sleep, so I think it’s best to leave him alone to rest for now.
So the big fight was started by Cow and it ended up with Cow and my husband sustaining injuries but Zurik got off without a single scratch!
I’ll stay up as late as I can to monitor Cow and hopefully he will be well enough to eat something tomorrow. I pray this doesn’t warrant a trip to the vet’s.
