Our clinic continues to provide complimentary basic veterinary consultation and treatment for community animals as well as pets from low-income households, whose owners are facing financial hardship.
The SPCA was the first to offer free sterilisation for strays since 1991 and has distributed over 33,000 complimentary sterilisation vouchers for community dogs and cats, to caregivers and other animal welfare groups, totalling over $1.2 million in costs borne by the SPCA. The voucher scheme kept the community dog and cat populations down and saved countless lives.
In our last financial year, we sterilised 962 animals and collaborated with AVA on the Stray Cat Sterilisation Programme (SCSP), where AVA funded 50% of the cost of sterilisation of stray cats from HDB estates. The scheme has since been extended to cover strays in non-HDB areas as well. In total, 322 cats were sterilised and microchipped under this scheme. In August, the sterilisation voucher programme was extended to cover community dogs.
If you are interested to apply for our sterilisation vouchers for local breed cats and dogs from the streets, please email clinic@spca.org.sg
You can also do your part to save lives by donating at www.giving.sg/society-for-the-prevention-of-cruelty-to-animals/sterilise_our_community_dogs to help fund our voucher scheme so that more sterilisation vouchers can be extended to caregivers and other animal welfare groups.

Besides donating, you may also consider volunteering in our Foster Care Programme http://www.spca.org.sg/helpus_fosterparent.asp, assisting us in fostering very young animals that require round-the-clock care, to animals on long-term treatment and/or rehabilitation, or those that require socialisation in a home environment.
By helping to foster animals, you are helping to save lives. The companionship you provide will contribute towards the nurturing of the animal.
