COLUGOS RELEASE MESMERIZES OUR RESCUE VOLUNTEERS!
Malayan Colugos are native to Singapore. They are also known as Malayan flying lemurs. These enchanting mammals are nocturnal. They are arboreal and spend most of their time high up in the trees where they feed on flowers, shoots, leaves and fruits. They are well adapted gliders, gliding from tree to tree to move around.
In Singapore, the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Team usually receives calls regarding them when they get stranded in urban areas and this particular individual is no different. He flew and crashed into a HDB residential estate. He was safely rescued and released back into a forested area just across a small road.
Our rescue volunteers Robin and Joe got worried when he did not climb the big tree that they released him in front off. They watched with awaited breath as he slowly navigated his way through the small branches up to the big tree.
