IT TOOK A COMMUNITY TO RESCUE PAGODA STREET CAT

We have been receiving multiple reports about a black cat stuck on the roof of a building in Pagoda Street since late last week. Our rescue officer, Lee Yao Huang, visited multiple times, trying to find a way to get to the cat.

Due to the height and the difficulty in accessing the roof, this was a very challenging case. Thankfully, the lucky feline had no shortage of kind-hearted people offering to help. The Animal Lovers League, the police, residents and tenants in the building including a law firm, passersby and others in the community stepped up to help save the animal’s life.

Special thanks must go to the resident of the third floor unit who allowed us to break their window panel so that a trap could be laid. The cat has been successfully trapped, brought back to the SPCA and will be under observation for the next few days to ensure it is doing well.

We thank everyone for their concern and a huge thank you again to all who were involved in this rescue mission.
