This is a WORLD ANIMAL DAY message from MDDB. Nothing is impossible.

Please do not give up on animals which need your help. Some may not make it even after you've tried your best - but there are some that will fight against the odds and show you that they are true survivors. All it takes is a little love and compassion.

Mr Gwing is physically handicapped. He was found at the Semenyih market and was frightened of people and very aggressive. he was not able to move at all but after TLC from our fosterer Derene - Mr Gwing has taught us that valuable lesson of not giving up on any animal no matter how hopeless the situation may seem.

Precious was an accident victim who had been lying in a coma in the blistering sun near the Puspakom building in Shah Alam. A good Samaritan had alerted us to her. She had no bowel control and her tummy was swollen with feces and urine. Thanks to our dedicated vets, Precious came out of the coma but her eyesight was compromised due to her severe head injuries. Precious also suffered some brain damage. She was first fostered by our friend Ruth Hammond (who has also adopted another one of our disabled dogs Maya) and is now living with our Irene. She has regained some of her eyesight and leads a happy life with her housemates.

"Animals are now more than ever a test of our character, of mankind's capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don't; because they all stand unequal and powerless before us." - Matthew Scully in Dominion
