RESCUED : DOG’S HEAD STUCK IN CONTAINER
On Saturday, 3 September 2016 early morning at 4 am, we received a call on our 24 hour hotline by a concerned member of the public, informing us that she spotted a dog with its head stuck in a container. The dog had its head stuck for around two days, but was unable to be caught.
Our rescue officer, Yao Huang, attended to the call and with the assistance of the caller as well as a security guard (they kept watch over the dog until we arrived at the scene), the dog was contained in a crate and was able to receive assistance in getting the container removed from its head. Oil needed to be applied around the neck area to loosen the hold of the container.
Food and water were offered to the dog but she was not interested. She was relieved to have her head out of the container and after a brief rest, she ran off into the bushes.
Should you come across an animal that is injured, sick or distressed, do contact us on our 24 hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9. While awaiting for our rescue officer’s arrival, your assistance in containing the animal and/or keeping watch over the animal is much appreciated as many times when our officer arrives at the scene, the animal is nowhere to be found.
We thank Ms Chelly and the security guard for their kind assistance.
