A joint effort of SSPCA and S.O.S Kuching in conducting CNVR – Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate , Release/Return at GalaCity Stampin Worksite and Jabatan Perikanan Santubong to manage the stray population.

CNVR – Capture Neuter Vaccinate and Return – is the only internationally accepted humane stray animal control method that actually works.

Animals are taken from the area they usually live in, surgically neutered, treated for any disease and vaccinated. Once they recover from surgery they are returned to where they were found.

We are targeting to neuter and spay 70 % of the stray populations, in order to make an impact and reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens being born.

Spaying, neutering, vaccination and post operative care costs an average of RM250. SSPCA and SOS rely on public donations to fund such neutering programmes.

In the last 3 weeks, our volunteers caught a number of dogs and puppies from Santubong, Brighton Square and the GalaCity area. This has cost us an estimated total of RM8000, and is greatly draining our resources.

We are making this public appeal to help us reduce the number of strays on the streets by donating to us for the CNVR projects.
