MY LEG WAS AMPUTATED AND I WORRY THAT NO ONE WILL ADOPT ME NOW. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!

Please EMAIL dana@soidog-foundation.org for more information.

My name is Hanuman and I am a 3 year old boy. A while ago I disappeared from my usual territory for 3 days and, when I returned, the lady who was feeding me noticed that I had an injured leg. I was in a lot of pain and was so grateful that people like you made it possible for Soi Dog to come and help me. Unfortunately the vet had to amputate my leg and now I have to learn how to walk and jump with 3 legs. I am having physiotherapy so I’m sure that I will get stronger and learn to cope with my disability.

I worry that no one will adopt me after losing my leg. I am a handsome ginger and white cat who is affectionate and playful. I enjoy socializing with the other cats in the shelter but I long for a home of my own with an owner who will give me the love I crave.

I am a special boy as I am FeLV and FIV positive. But don’t worry as Cats like me can live perfectly long, healthy lives. All I need is a visit to the vet every now and again to make sure everything is ok.

FeLV or feline leukaemia virus means that I cannot live in a home with other cats. But I can happily live with another FeLV positive cat or a cat that has been vaccinated against FeLV. FeLV is spread when cats groom each other so I will need to be kept indoors so that I cannot meet other cats and spread the virus.

The Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is similar to the human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. FIV is a virus that causes AIDS in cats but it is important to remember that it usually takes a while before any symptoms of the virus occur. Most cats live for about 5 years after diagnosis for FIV and it cannot be transmitted to humans. It is a cats-only infection.

You can read more about the feline leukaemia virus here: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/common-cat-diseases and information on FIV is available at http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=1313

I would love to find a forever home with an owner who is willing to take care of me.

Please adopt me!
