WHAT DO LITTLE KIDS KNOW ABOUT ANIMAL PROTECTION?

Well…some of them actually know more than grown-ups do!

The ACRES Education Team has visited 11 preschools since the start of the year, delivering education programmes on animal protection, and inspiring little ones to end animal cruelty together with us. Youd be surprised by how much knowledge some kids are able to share!

We remember one boy who told his class during our session on wildlife crime: I saw a show on television. The elephants all die because people take their tusks away. 100 elephants die every day. And now the elephants are endangered.

All the children in his class learned something new and important from him that day.

From our humane education programmes for preschools, whether its a programme at the school or a visit to the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC), children learn that they can make a difference for animals by not keeping wild animals as pets or buying objects that are made of animal parts. They learn that animals have feelings and deserve our empathy and respect. Realising that wild animals do not feel happy being a humans pet, many children express their disinterest in keeping one themselves.

Its never too early to set kids on the path to caring for animals!
