Vincent (after 8 Weeks)

It’s been 8 weeks since Vincent’s tooth extraction and we are really happy that he has been eating very well. He eats wet food as well as kibble and has very good appetite.

8 weeks and counting!

vincen and zurik

Here he is, on a kibble snack with his former arch-enemy, Mr Zurik.

The two are still not the best of buddies, but the previous daily antagonisms have all stopped now. The other day, Vincent was sitting on his table and Mr Zurik tried to wrestle it away from him, but Vincent stood (or rather, sat!) his ground.

Ginger still bullies Vincent, but at least now, Vincent is confident enough not to run away. He just cowers a little, but he stays. Perhaps Vincent feels intimidated by Ginger because Ginger has family support (and a mother, Daffodil, who would go to the ends of the earth to protect him and Rosie!).

There is no cure for stomatitis; just management and maintenance. Vincent is still on daily Plague Off and fish oil.

Vincent comes upstairs to wake me up almost daily. The Bird Family occupies the bed and Daffodil practically lives on the bed and in the bedroom these days. In the mornings after breakfast, Daffodil sleeps on my blanket while Vincent sleeps on the floor in the bedroom. It’s good to know that Vincent is safe and feeling confident.

Each day that Vincent is well and able to eat heartily is truly a blessing. Every week, on a Wednesday, it is a milestone. One more week has passed and Vincent is okay!
