Meet Julia and Walter. She can’t hear, and neither can her pup � they were both born deaf. Julia’s mom Chrissy says the chihuahua-terrier mix stole her heart when he snuggled up to Julia’s neck just as Julia did to her mother as a baby. Julia, who’s 10, has been teaching Walter sign language so they can communicate with each other.

Whether it’s deafness, blindness or some other physical limitation, animals can still make fantastic pets!
