NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUND UP 01 Jul 2016
When you call our 24hr wildlife rescue hotline to report a snake sighting, we may often ask for the description of the snake (colours, patterns, posture, length and thickness). We also request for a photo of the snake to be sent to us via WhatsApp.
It helps us to identify the species before we can provide you useful advice on what to do and what not to until we arrive, or if a rescue is even needed. Our thanks go to the callers who have patiently sent us the photos.
Here are photos from 2 recent rescue cases:
Can you guess what species of snakes are these?
Clue: They are native to Singapore!
In general, we do not pin point exact location of where these animals were found; but if you have interesting/quirky facts to share about these snakes, please go ahead and comment!
We are very grateful to the 2 residents who called us – for their understanding. In particular, we would like to thank the resident for the green snake case, who was concerned that the snake is unable to scale the steep smooth wall to get back to the forest! You made our rescue officers’ day!
Please remember to call our 24hr wildlife rescue hotline 9783 7782 for assistance if you see any wild animal in distress.
Have a superb weekend everyone!
