NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 3rd JUNE 2016

1. Silver, a reticulated python, had a bad start to the morning: she was found stuck in a drain between the metal bars. We suspect that Silver tried to squeeze into a gap that was too small for her, and she ended up in a position where she was unable to move on either side of the grill. We are grateful to the very cooperative Tanjong Pagar Town Council staff member Sally and her team, for carefully cutting the metal bars, so that we could safely rescue Silver.

2. On a hot day, 90-90, a reticulated python, was found resting on the wheel of a motorbike. Its rather an odd place for a python to rest! Its possible that 90-90 had been foraging in that area the previous night, and decided that any shaded spot he came across would do as a snoozing spot for the day after a busy night!

3. Our thanks go to Changi Airport staff for rescuing Barney, a barn owl. Barney was dazed and reluctant to fly, possibly from a window collision. After some rest and incubation, Barney was all good to fly off at night.

Please remember to call our 24-hr Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 for advice, if you see any wild animal in distress in Singapore.

Have a pleasant weekend everyone!
