Another Rainbow Blanket
Tweet |
We’ve done a few rainbow-coloured blankets in the past, and Ho Yuen Cheng requested for one. It was really fortuitous that recently, my mum was able to purchase many pieces of colourful small pieces of cloth from an ex-student of hers. So I was able to choose the rainbow-coloured pieces of cloth from there.
This is the finished blanket, measuring 58.5 in by 72 in. I sewed the top with the newly acquired cloth plus scraps from our stash while my mum sewed the backing. The backing cloth is contributed by Agnes Cheong.
Very interesting small pieces of cloth, ideal for patchwork!
Daffodil and Rosie were totally engrossed in the sewing of this blanket. They wanted a full say in the design.
After red, orange and yellow, comes green, right, Daffodil?
Then comes blue, followed by indigo and violet. I always remember my rainbow colours because its combination, being natural, is the most pleasing to the human eye.
Can cats see colour? I think only a limited spectrum of the wavelengths…
Ginger wanted to be involved too!
Daffodil: I approve.
Here it is! I truly enjoyed doing this piece as I like working with scraps!
