IT IS NO HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FOR PUPPY MILL MAMAS

As we prepare to celebrate Mothers Day this weekend, we reflect on the way our moms inspire us, love us and cheer us on. But do pause for a moment, to also remember the millions of mother dogs nationwide.

Every day, puppies are born into large, substandard breeding facilities commonly known as puppy mills. Mother dogs are forced, over and over again, to produce puppies for profit under conditions of unimaginable cruelty. Once they are past their prime, these dogs are discarded, never having known the tenderness of human affection.

Despite their status as man’s best friend, countless thousands of mother dogs are suffering out of sight in puppy mills . They are treated as if they are nothing more than living machines confined in cramped, dirty structures while churning out litters of puppies to supply pet stores and online sales.

You can make a difference this Mothers Day by making an informed and conscious decision to make adoption your first option when looking for a pet.

Most pet store puppies come from puppy mills, and by pledging to adopt instead of buying, youll provide a home for an animal in need and change a life immeasurably.
