Daffodil Is Ill, But Is Eating Again.(phew!)

Daffodil skipped lunch today. She looked quite sickly and that really got me worried. Her nose was wet (wetter than it should be) so I think she caught the flu. Since yesterday, I had heard her sneezing a few times.
You’d remember that Tiger was heard sneezing for one day, but only for a day. Ginger had it for two days, was sneezing and he even skipped a meal. Vincent had it for five days but continued eating like a horse through it all. He was sneezing and his nose was dripping a little, but he did not lose his appetite at all, which was a relief!
I’m beginning to think there may be cat flu going around here.
Back to Daffodil, I was really worried, especially with her age and all. By dinner time, she still did not feel like eating and didn’t even come to the kitchen when the rest ate. I offered her Monge at the chair, but she didn’t want it.
A cat knows better and we should never force food on them. Moreover, fasting might be good for the body to heal.
With Daffodil, force-feeding of Vetri DMG is totally out of the question as she would definitely freak out. I didn’t want to frighten her in any way since the consolation was that she hadn’t gone away. She was home all the time, sleeping on the chair.
She certainly looked very sick, but I’m thankful enough that she stayed home.
But just now, at 9.00pm when Rosie asked for kibble and everyone came, I was pleasantly surprised that Daffodil felt good enough to join them.
She didn’t want any kibble. So I offered her Monge which she merely sniffed at, initially.
Then, the magic happened….
Yes, yes, yes, Daffodil is eating on her own!!
I had already put some Vetri DMG into it. And while she was eating, I sprinkled some Transfer Factor on top too. It happened that Daffodil liked the TF, so I was even able to make her eat the whole capsule “neat” by emptying all the contents from the capsule into the bowl.
Immune boosters which I normally use when the cats are under the weather.
I sure hope the “worst” is over for Daffodil and she will be okay now.
At least she is eating already!
