Yes, this cat is named “But Mister…” He was so eager to have someone care for him, but everyone in his Croatian neighborhood hollered at him and shooed him away. You see, all they saw was matted fur on a sick-looking cat.But what if he could talk?

“But Mister, please don’t be afraid of me. I am a good cat. I behave nicely around humans and I don’t scratch. My body is sore and I have a hernia that causes me pain. My teeth are in poor condition and I have aches from the curvature of my spine. I’m old now and my knotted fur pulls at my tired boy. All I really want is to eat. All I really want is to feel good again. All I really want is a place to sleep safely and wake without fear.”

Thank goodness for the wonderful rescuers at SOS Cat in Croatia, But Mister is safe now. Volunteers here actually provide care for 42 feral cat colonies all year long. Its not easy job, but the cats are vaccinated, sterilized and provided with food and water.
