DEAR KA YAN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION!

Ka Yan Liew, a student from the UMS (University of Malaysia Sabah), spent one and a half months interning with us, from February until April.

Interestingly, Ka Yan took Agriculture (livestock) as her major, but she chose to conduct her final year project with ACRES an organisation that advocates for more humane alternatives to factory farming.

During her days with us, as we worked together to take care of the rescued animals, we managed to exchange our thoughts and knowledge on animal welfare issues, including the farming of animals and factory farming.

Although we cant stop factory farming overnight, we can all do our bit to raise awareness about factory farming issues and, as consumers, we can demand that farmed animals are treated more humanely. Those working in animal agriculture can also play a critical role in improving the welfare of farmed animals.

One step at a time, we can create a world that extends compassion and respect to all living beings.
