FERAL CAT RELOCATION PROJECT

The lesser known side of our work is our care for feral cat colonies near our headquarters in Massachusetts (USA). Today we relocated a shelter that is home to elderly feral cats who have lived on this one property all their lives. Because a new business is now moving in on the lot (it had been vacant for years) Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson and Treasurer Michelle Muller got busy setting up a shelter for the cats on an adjacent property. After enjoying their breakfast, the cats watched with interest from underneath a garbage truck in the parking lot. A safe shelter is essential in keeping them protected during harsh weather and in keeping them safe from coyotes.

We thought it would be nice to share a few photos of the “village” design Michelle created which allows the cats to choose from one of three sleeping “houses”. And take a look at the little mouse who was curiously watching us work!

Harmony Fund also hosts a barn sanctuary which is home to 50 displaced feral cats. We do have our hands full, and we’re so grateful for all of you who make this work possible.
