Vincent has been doing very well ever since his tooth extraction and the steroids were administered into his inflamed gums.
I am still amazed at how fast and well he turned around after the surgery.
When I brought home Coco & Joe’s BARF on Friday, Vincent wanted some too, so I gave him some. As it turned out, he loved it so much that he even tried to eat the BARF off the bowls of Daffodil. Today, he went up against Ginger for the BARF.
I read that BARF is good for the immune system as well as the teeth and oral health, so even though Vincent is supposed to be on a kibble diet, I still give him a meal of BARF once a day. The vet did say that if giving wetfood is a necessity, it’s still alright to do so. I am also able to mix the turmeric and fish oil into the BARF and Vincent eats it all up! If mixed with canned food or kibbles, he is a little fussy. Either the odour of the BARF is strong enough to mask that of the turmeric and fish oil, or Vincent just loves the BARF so much.
This is their kibble meal in the evening.
Vincent can eat up to three helpings! Maybe he is making up for lost time!
And he is back in action, at his sentry post, guarding the house!
It’s just so, so good to see Vincent well again.
When his gum problem was so bad, I really didn’t think he’d be able to recover so well.
We owe it all to his vet!
