SPCA’S LETTER TO STRAITS TIMES FORUM “PUBLIC SHOULD REPORT CASES OF ANIMAL CRUELTY, ABANDONMENT
In Mr Darren Chans letter to The Straits Times forum page on 28 March – More action needed against illegal pet breeding, he called for the authorities to step up enforcement and to clamp down on illegal breeders and puppy mills that care only about making profits out of animals, neglecting the animals’ well-being.
If you witness an act of deliberate cruelty, (resulting in injury or death) or abandonment of an animal, please report it to us. You can do so by completing a form at this link http://spca.org.sg/services_inspectorate.asp

We receive an average of 80 to 90 reports of alleged cruelty to animals every month. As we do not have enforcement powers under the Animals & Birds Act, serious cases that warrant further action are referred to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) or the police.
