SATURDAY CRIME NIGHT END THE ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADE
The illegal wildlife trade has been rising and driving many animal species to extinction. Often times, they are smuggled in thermoses and nylon stockings, stuffed into toilet paper tubes, hair curlers and hubcaps. This is a serious issue affecting animals worldwide and it is important to end the cruel trade to keep our wildlife safe and going. It is disheartening to know that such crimes do happen here in Singapore although strict laws are in place to tackle the issue.
Here is what you can do to help us curb the trade in Singapore
1. Refrain from purchasing wild animals
2. Report any individual involved in the illegal wildlife trade
3. Educate and spread the awareness to people around you
4. Never take animals from the wild. Respect their home.
Be vigilant and report cases of animal cruelty to the ACRES Animal Crime Investigation Unit (ACIU) at acrescrime@gmail.com.
Actively do your part to end this cruel trade. A little help goes a long way for the animals. Appreciate them in the wild.
