THIS IS THE SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERISM AND ADVOCACY!
14 boys from Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) chose to work with ACRES for their Values-in-Action (VIA) project last month.
These enthusiastic boys spent their recess time and after-school hours talking to their peers about animal protection and the work of ACRES. They also set up a small exhibition on the school grounds to raise awareness on cruelty-free living. What really moved us was when they decided to extend the initial 2-day event into a 4-day event! They said that it was because they enjoyed spreading the message about animal protection so much. The boys also carried out some volunteer work at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC).
Their CCA (co-curricular activities) teacher-in-charge, Mr. Isaac Lim, was the supporting pillar of these boys in their project, ensuring that they put 100% commitment in giving back to the community.
In total, the boys managed to raise $763.90 and contributed 122 hours of their time for the animals. How fantastic is that?!
