Love Is All It Takes A Book By Koh Sher Ven (fundraising)
Tweet | ![]() |
“Love is all it takes” is a book written by Koh Sher Ven (now 18 years old). Sher Ven has passed us 320 copies of her books with the hope that we could sell it (by donation) at RM5 per book and all donations will come to our Fund for the animals.
It is a very heart-warming tale of a stray dog’s journey through life.
I am a total weakling when it comes to animal stories and I need a happy ending before reading it, so I quickly flipped to the last few pages and YES, it does have a happy ending. Yay!!
We dearly hope you will support Sher Ven’s kind intentions in raising funds for the street animals who come through us. If we can sell all 320 books, it will be helping to raise RM1600 for the animals! Let’s make Sher Ven’s dream come true! RM1600 translates to helping 16 cats or 10 dogs. And the positive influence that can come from the message of the book is not quantifiable.
Sher Ven is leaving the country for her further studies soon, so the books are with us. If you’d like to order, please write to me at chankahyein@gmail.com. Kindly reimburse us for shipping charges.
Some background:
It was in May 2014 that Sher Ven (then 16 years old) wrote to me about a book that she had written and her intention was to sell it to raise funds for street animals. We encouraged her to go ahead with her noble intentions but did not hear from her until a few weeks ago, which coincidentally was exactly two years later!

Good Evening,
I’m sorry that this took 2 years but please continue reading.
Dear Organisers of Myanimalcare,
My name is Sher Ven, I’m turning 18 and I’m an animal lover. I’m writing to you as I would like to donate and offer assistance to your cause. I had once written to you about a book I wrote but was unable to follow up with that. I will be leaving soon to study overseas, I hope to help share your cause and hopefully help a few furry friends of ours before I leave.
The book I wrote was about the life of a stray dog and though it is not entirely factual, it does portray part of a stray’s life. My intention was to share the feelings and the hardships of a stray to readers to not be afraid or disgusted by them but to embrace them and show them love. I have sold a few of my books and wish to donate the money to myanimalcare. Along with your organisation, I will also be donating to another shelter. (will be updated if there are any changes or once I’ve spoken to them.)
Other than donating money from my book sales, I would also like to donate my books. As I’ll be leaving soon, I’m running out of time to sell my books and donate the money to organisations such as you. My books can be sold or simply shared like the books on your website. The proceeds will all go to your organisation and help with the financial costs. I have already sent an electronic version of my book and I can deliver the hard copies of my book to you. I really hope that Love is All It Takes (the title of my book) can spread the word that love is really all it takes to save our furry friends and that this would be able to help all the organisations working towards the goal that one day there will be no more strays.
This originally started out as a school project but I believe that it can be much more than that. We all have one wish and that is to help our furry friends, hoping that one day we won’t have to. It would really be an honour to be able to contribute to your cause.
Please do consider. I can provide more details (e.g. # of books I have, amount I’m donating, what’s more in my book). Here is the short write up that we’ve talked about before.
Thank you for your work and your time.
Kind Regards,
Sher Ven

Hi, I’m Sher Ven, I’m 16 years old and I am a major animal lover. I would like to ask if I could collaborate with your organization? I am selling a book that I wrote, it started out as a school project but then I decided to take a step forward and sell them and donate part of the money earned (part of the money is needed to cover the cost) to different animal shelters such as yours.

Thank you very much, Sher Ven, for all your efforts and kind intentions.
Sher Ven’s books will also be put up for sale (by donation) at the 7th Animal Awareness Day at Universiti Malaya on 24th March 2016. We hope the university fraternity will support her noble intentions.
Meanwhile, please do consider using the book as gifts for children – it serves many purposes – to encourage young children to read, to write and to love street animals.
Thank you very much, Sher Ven. We wish you all the best for your future undertakings.
