It’s time again for the 7th Animal Awareness Day at Universiti Malaya!
Date: 24th March 2016 (Thursday)
Venue: Dataran Sains, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya
We wish to thank and salute Dr Veeranoot Nissapatorn once again, for her unrelenting efforts, year after year, to organise this event. The aim of this event is to raise funds for the neutering of street animals, to provide petfood to needy rescuers and to promote and inculcate animal kindness in the university fraternity – all of which we dearly and fully support. What better way to start than from the youths?
Dr Veeranoot herself is a practitioner of animal kindness too. She is vegetarian, an animal rescuer (since the very first time she adopted two kittens from us in 2009 – that started it all!) and she even started a neutering programme at Universiti Malaya and this is ongoing. In 2012-2013, Dr Veeranoot managed to find adopters and homes for hundreds of gerbils to prevent them from being euthanised. She has acted and spoken up against many forms of animal cruelty.
We thank Dr Veeranoot very much for all her efforts and wish her a successful event.
If you are in the vicinity, do drop in and support!
The programme:
Since it is a working day, I regret I will not be able to attend, but our booth will be there. We thank Mr Koo Swee Por very much for representing us and also, as always, Dr Veeranoot and her students (from the Dept of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine) for helping us set up and man our booth.
We are also quite excited as our brand new tshirts (two new designs in five exciting colour combinations) will be arriving next week. We hope it’s in time for the event too!
Thank you, all!
