My name is Dewar II. Please email dana@soidog-foundation.org to ADOPT me!

I am nearly 5 years old and I have been a resident of Soi Dog, Phuket, Thailand for over a year and a half now.

I was brought to the shelter by some nice people who were feeding the stray dogs on a nearby beach and found me there. They had never seen me on that beach before and they were worried that the other dogs would fight with me to defend their area. I could not tell you how I ended up on that beach; it is possible I was dumped there by somebody who no longer wanted me.

When I came to Soi Dog, there were many things wrong with me. I was very skinny and had no energy. There was discharge from both my eyes and the vets told me I had something called cataracts in both. I was suffering from mange and a fungal skin infection and a lot of my beautiful fur had fallen out. I was also limping due to an old hip fracture. I may have been only 4 years of age but I was so tired of fighting to survive.

Since arriving at Soi Dog, I have been very well looked after. More recently they performed surgery to help correct my eye problems. My eyelids were impaired causing my eyelashes to rub against my eyes. The constant discomfort and pain was unbearable, but thankfully, they have made me well again and now I am happier and healthier than ever before.

Now I just need a new home to make my story have a truly happy ending. I am a quirky and resilient girl with an endearing character. I enjoy attention and I love strokes and cuddles. It makes my day when we have volunteers at the shelter who take us out for walks. Exploring outside is so much fun. I am good with the other dogs in my run too, so surely someone will want to adopt me? Won’t they?

I would do well with a new family who have the patience and time to spend with a girl like me who has already been through so much. What I need now is to be shown warmth and love in order to flourish.

Will you offer me the chance of true happiness that I believe I deserve? Now I am recovering well, I hope I get to enjoy the rest of my life in a proper home. I can only hope I do not get forgotten about in here.

Please e-mail dana@soidog-foundation.org to find out how to make this happen.
