Island Tour: St Johns

UPDATES ON ST JOHN’S ISLAND CATS

The cats of St Johns Island were featured on Channel News Asia First Look Asia; a 2-hour breakfast programme on Tuesday, 1 March 2016.

SPCA first spearheaded an animal sterilisation SWAT team in 2010, taking our first steps in managing the domestic cat population on the island.

After multiple trips where we sterilised more than 100 cats on the island, we are happy to announce that up to 95% of the current cat population is now sterilised. This has led to a stabilisation of the population.

Sterilisation is definitely the preferred and more humane way to manage animal populations.
