I’ll be sewing PC Leong’s king-sized monkey blanket next and after that, there will be new blankets again!
Thank you, everyone, for rallying behind us and helping us raise funds for the animals. Your thoughtfulness is most appreciated. Let’s tide through this challenging period. Together.
We are also really thankful to all supporters who have been contributing cloth for this blanket-making project. If you’d like to make a contribution of cloth, a minimum of 1 metre of cloth is required to make half a blanket, so if you could mix and match for us (1 metre each of two pieces of cloth), that would be really good. Please go for cotton material as this makes the best blankets.
My mum’s and my stash are really running out already – we are down to scraps now, but still, we will figure out ways to make use of them. For example, Cherry Blossom was sewn with scraps.
My mum managed to gather three types of cloth and she made 19 of these motifs. Now, with 19 pieces (not an even number, not a multiple of 3 or 5; it’s a prime number!), what could I do without wasting any of the pieces?
I did this! That’s making full use of all the 19 pieces of motifs.
I then went to the textile shop and matched it with the chequered cloth.
Now, that’s patchwork!
